Indigent Health Care Program
TRINITY COUNTY will continue to use the following rules and procedures to comply with its responsibility under the
INDIGENT HEALTH CARE TREATMENT ACT.
The Trinity County Indigent Health Care Program provides medical help to residents of Trinity County who live OUTSIDE THE TRINITY HOSPITAL DISTRICT. If you pay hospital taxes or reside on property that is located within the Hospital District then you are not eligible for coverage through the County Program. You should contact ETMC in Trinity, Texas to request information regarding their financial aid program.
All other residents of the County, i.e. Groveton, Woodlake or Apple Springs, can apply for The Indigent Health Care Program through the County, IF you do not receive any assistance from another agency through Federal or State assisted programs. You can contact the IHC Office to make an inquiry of Trinity County’s responsibilities to an Indigent individual by calling (936) 642-1736 or obtain the information in person at Trinity County Courthouse, 162 West 1st Street (1st floor), Groveton, Texas 75845.

Prescreening must be obtained prior to an appointment to see the caseworker. Caseworker is seen by appointment ONLY. You may obtain a prescreening during the hours of operation listed below. All services are first come first serve.
